Sunday 3/30/14--Aries new moon/grand cross

The first new moon of spring Sunday 3/30 (Sun and Moon meet in Aries 11:45am PDT) energizes the emergence of personal passion, joining the hugely historic four-way alignment now building a great wave of transformative power on this planet.

Involving all three levels of expression plus emerging wisdom, a "grand cross" of pressurizing force is building at our seasonal shifting points, physical power energizing revolutionary assertion, flowing creativity, and activated harmony-seeking (Pluto in Capricorn, Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Cancer, and Mars in Libra). This dynamic amplification of deep nature, balanced but intensifying, builds through the next few weeks, peaking and releasing its powerful potential from full moon 4/14 through exact alignment 4/23. It's happening at a time of emotional sensitivity (Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio, Neptune in Pisces).

What this will bring is anyone's guess, but it is nothing less than the reinforced power of nature breaking through the failing tension of control, and that has to be good.

Spring 2014/grand cross

The Sun moves into Aries (3/20, 9:57am PDT), spring time in the north, activating a grand cross of astrological forces at our seasonal shifting points, building for years, that is amplifying the power of nature on this planet, peaking and releasing 4/14-23. The transformative potential of this can not be overstated.

Since 2008, grounded physicality has been reinforced (Pluto in Capricorn for the first time since 1763). Since 2011, it has been energizing revolutionary emergence (square Uranus in Aries for the first time since 1167 BC). Now, with expansive expression in flowing feeling (Jupiter in Cancer) and action seeking harmony (Mars in Libra), an exact four-way alignment in the first signs of seasons has built a tremendous wave of elemental energy that will be coming out starting this spring.

At a time of intensified sensitivity (planets in all three water signs), reinforced nature power is breaking through failing structures based on tension and control. It will lead us through drama and difficulty to a new world rooted in healthy humanity.

Daylight Saving Time is evil

People think they like Daylight Saving Time because they enjoy having longer evenings, but that was going to happen anyway. They just think it's caused by changing the clocks because they've grown up that way. We would all be better off letting the days get longer and shorter naturally, gradually through the course of the year, changing schedules for certain things (summer hours/winter hours, moved at the first Mondays of spring and fall) to take advantage of the longer evenings and earlier mornings.

It's not just the trauma of adjustment we go through twice a year. We have a natural sense of where we are in the progression of the day, and it's really unhealthy, whether you think you've adapted or not, to have the clock say it's an hour later than you feel. It's enough that we round off regionally for Standard Time, but at least that's close to real (sun-aligned) time for the area. Believe it or not, it's easier to stay on Standard Time, setting automatic devices for the next time zone to keep them right, and mentally correct for all the people and clocks playing this crazy game, than to pretend it's an hour later than it feels.

The denial of nature, thinking we can ignore it or control it, is at the heart of so many problems in the world today. I'm not kidding when I say that Daylight "Saving" Time is evil. We should accept and enjoy the rhythms of nature as they are, healthy people thriving in the flow of life.

At a time of primal power and intensified sensitivity, big energy that's been building in emotion shifts to flowing release.
