Today's full moon is an especially intense alignment, an astrological "grand cross," with strong forces at the corners of our seasonal cycle: activated vitality is getting down to the bottom of things (sun and Mars in Sagittarius), heart has built up to the peak of mental processing (full moon in Gemini), sensitive wisdom is just under the surface (Uranus in Pisces), and centering is demanding practical resolution (Saturn in Virgo). The release of energy invested in this four-way tension could be striking.

Completing a year of historic shift in deep power on this planet, we are in a month of transition. Though on 11/27 heavy Pluto moved into the earthy constructiveness of Capricorn for the first time since 1762 (joining creative Jupiter, which has been there all year), we are waiting for the sun to complete its yearly trip down to winter solstice. At the Capricorn new moon, on December 27, our transition is complete: sun, moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Pluto—soul, heart, mind, action, creativity and power—will all be in the primal force of Capricorn, the ground of new beginnings.

The intensified full moon that will be releasing now is a push to the cosmic wheel of elemental influence on this planet. In two weeks, all the energy coming out will gather at the bottom of things, founding a new era based in the undeniable expression of deep nature.
