We have reached a defining moment in the process of cleansing and renewal.
August is notorious for developments of long-building tension breaking into manifest expression. While some have been dark--Hiroshima, Manson murders, Nixon resignation, Saddam in Kuwait, Marilyn Monroe and Jerry Garcia dead--others have had healthy, lasting consequence. This is the 40th anniversary of the inexplicable heroic cultural improvisation that was Woodstock and the Beatles coming together one last time to complete their defining salutation, "Abbey Road."
Last year we entered a new era of heavy power (Pluto into Capricorn), undermining relationships based on control, supporting new ones rooted in nature. This year has been something of a lull, stripping us to our essence, getting us right with awareness amidst the pattern of our involvements. The midsummer full moon on August 6 was a reinforced experience of power alignment. Now, the new moon at 3:02am Pacific time on Thursday August 20 is a culminating convergence at the peak of passion (sun and moon together in Leo), energized by creative healing dreams of life's interdependence (opposite Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius). Though it could bring a flare of heat and drama, the shock of disruption, it will catalyze the next phase of global transformation, leading us into new frontiers of sustaining nurturance.
This is the apocalyptic moment, the light of truth breaking through its denial. We must accept the magic of creation, yielding to the tide of nature with faith in the underlying goodness of divinity unfolding.
"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."
