The Mayan Calendar does not end on 12/21/12. The Sun is not aligned with the galactic center on that day. It is not the end of a 5,000 year or 26,000 year cycle. One ancient inscription spoke of this date as a point of historic culmination, a fact popularized by some modern visionaries as a moment of dramatic development. Perhaps they were onto something.

The Mayan Calendar describes a progressive pattern of accelerating and intensifying vibratory energy that has driven the emergence of biological organization and human consciousness on this planet, accounting for quantum shifts that gradual evolution cannot. According to the traditional count, it began 16.4 billion years ago and came to completion on October 28, 2011. The great Mayan pyramid at Chichen Itza depicts this process in nine ascending levels of development. It is flat on top, suggesting that now, with the full range of energetic potential unfolded, the true game of life can be played with enlightened humanity.

A rare astrological alignment is intensifying life in our world. Heavy Pluto in grounding Capricorn is square revolutionary Uranus in passionate Aries, for the first time since 1167 BC, peaking now through 2015. Deep nature power is energizing revolutionary emergence, with transformative consequences. At solstice on 12/21/12 the Sun hits the bottom of our seasonal cycle, into Capricorn, reinforcing and activating this powerful alignment.

We have entered the Apocalyptic Age. Unhealthy ways are coming to a head, superseded by the greater imperatives of universal harmony. Low ebb. Last new moon before winter solstice, the bottom of our seasonal cycle (in Sagittarius) 12:42am Pacific time. Deep mind, the planet of revolutionary change, completes months of backtracking and internalizing, energized with passion and power, turning forward into big release (Uranus ends retrograde in Aries, square Pluto in Capricorn) 4:02am.

Spirit hits bottom, rebounding with primal power (Moon into Capricorn with Pluto) 1:43pm. Sun hits bottom--solstice--12/21.

Getting to the bottom of things for the year, ready for a constructive new beginning. (Sun in Sagittarius, toward winter solstice 12/21.) After a few days moving through peak passion (Moon in Leo), now dealing with practical matters (Moon in Virgo), into loving attitude for the weekend (Moon into Libra Friday 10:37am PT.)
