Capricorn 2008--A New Foundation
For many years, something has been dragging us down to the bottom of things. This process is now complete.
On December 27, 2008, sun, moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Pluto—soul, heart, mind, action, creativity and power—all met in Capricorn, the grounded constructiveness of new beginnings, the primal force at the bottom of our seasonal cycle. Deep, heavy, 248-year-cycle Pluto, having recently reached this point, will now anchor us there. We have entered a new era of reinforced nature power.
The heavy influence that once weighed us down is now aligned with the earth, empowering a new foundation for creative expression. This is good, but will have striking consequences. The intensification of nature force will bring down all structures based on tension and control, even as it supports and strengthens the more substantial and enduring alternatives. This could cause great upheaval. Frustration held in check will now reach the breaking point, rationalized restraint giving way to manifest passion for real solution. It will impact us emotionally, physically, socially, globally. This is the great purification, a time of deep transformation and planetary renewal. We must yield to the magic of creation, accepting awareness amidst all unfolding drama, one with the grace of light that lives within us. This is the apocalypse, the truth of life breaking through the mask of denial. We will see where it leads.
In 2009, the same energy that reinforced this past year's shift of deep power into grounded new beginnings will move on to join the historic alignment of healing and dreams in visionary awareness. (Jupiter, having led Pluto into Capricorn, will now meet Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius.) Primal nature will be breaking through all resistance, and this could be traumatic, a time of great adjustment. But we are being led by creative, healing dreams in the enlightened perspective of how all life is interdependent and must be treated that way. This is the vision that will sustain us. There is wisdom in vulnerable sensitivity, and we are being guided toward a fruitful outcome. (Uranus in Pisces, Saturn in Virgo.) This time of upheaval will be the end of unhealthy patterns that have prevailed for far too long, empowering support for a new, sustaining human ecology in harmony with the forces of divinity.
In the Mayan Calendar, 2012 is the culmination of evolutionary development, the emergence of divine consciousness on this planet. It is not, as some think, about a grand astrological alignment, though there may be something synchronous there. It is way bigger than that. Something is happening here that is nothing less than the establishment of divine rule in our world, and a transforming clarification of our relationship to it.
May we all accept the peace and grace that underlies all challenge and confusion, and may we all be blessed with the comfort of true love in all that lies before us.
